A Seussical Bio of Seuss
These posters use Ted Geisel’s writing, illustrative and typographic style to compose his biography. I found pictures of Geisel’s mother and Geisel himself at different stages of his life, then illustrated them in his unique style to help tell the story. Each panel is a stage of his life, the first being in his youth, the second at middle age, and the last his older years and beyond.
The poster style is based on earlier books, which featured bright colors but black and white illustrations and offset typography using New Century Schoolbook as the typeface. My logo for Dr. Seuss, which would also be a fun sign to put on cars, spells out SEUSS in fishes, with the characteristic Seuss-style eyes, and uses spacing and color to refer to one of his famous books—the first “S” is One Fish, “E” and “U” together are Two Fish, and the final “S”s are Red Fish and Blue Fish!
